PRI’s paleobotany collection contains important holdings in Devonian vascular plants from New York and Pennsylvanian coal-swamp plants from Pennsylvania, as well as a large collection of petrified wood. The PRI paleobotany collection complements the Cornell University paleobotanical collection (CUPC), housed in the University’s Bailey Hortorium, which has special strengths in Mesozoic and Cenozoic vascular plants, especially angiosperms.
